About
I am working on ancient global warming events called Hyperthermals. I am basically trying to elucidate the relationship between massive and rapid carbon release into the Earth System and its effect on the global ocean chemistry.
My current project investigates multiple events of ocean acidification (sea floor carbonate dissolution) occurred 52 - 55.5 millions of years ago.
My background:
I am micropaleontologist. I deal with planktonic foraminifers but know a little about the benthic fauna too. I love to work on both groups but it is more exciting if I get to resolve interesting paleoceanographic or paleoecological questions (Of course, the term interesting is quite relative so I do not expect people to get absolutely thrilled by me talking for hours about observing little protists under the microscope)
News
I will be participating in the Expedition 320 (Pacific Equatorial Transect 1). I will be collaborating on the identification of planktonic foraminifers.
This is my first time in the sea for that long!! From March 5 to May 5/2009. I cannot wait to start this amazing journey.
