My dissertation fieldwork is on the television industry in Japan, particularly the process of program creation as a social process, examining how the economic (and other) pressure on the industry impacts content, and the long-term sustainability of media practices.
I'm focusing on the morning jouhou (information) programs here in Tokyo.
